Case Report on Hand-Soaking Formula Combined with Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Nursing for Severe Hand-Foot Syndrome Following Oxaliplatin Chemotherapy
To investigate the clinical efficacy of herbal soaking/washing combined with integrated Chinese and Western medicine nursing for Hand-Foot Syndrome (HFS) following Oxaliplatin chemotherapy.
Methods
2
Comprehensive nursing interventions, including warm herbal soaking for warming meridians and dredging collaterals, neurotrophic therapy, and traditional Chinese acupuncture, were administered to a patient with stage III colon cancer who developed Grade 2 HFS post-chemotherapy.
Results
2
After 7 days of intervention, the patient's Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score for hand-foot numbness decreased by 50%, the NCI-CTCAE grade reduced to Grade 1, and significant improvements were observed in both TCM symptom scores and quality of life.
Conclusion
2
The Hand-Soaking Formula combined with integrated Chinese and Western medicine nursing effectively alleviates Oxaliplatin-related neurotoxicity, demonstrating significant clinical promotion value.
