Nursing Ward Round Case of an Elderly Patient with Severe Pneumonia Complicated by Multisystem Diseases
This article explores the nursing efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM-WM) ward rounds for elderly patients with severe pneumonia complicated by multisystem diseases. Through a detailed analysis of the nursing ward round process for a 79-year-old patient, it systematically demonstrates the development and implementation of a personalized nursing plan by comprehensively applying TCM and WM knowledge. The results indicate that the application of TCM nursing techniques, such as acupoint sticking, auricular acupressure, and herbal hot compress packs, significantly improved the patient’s condition during hospitalization, alleviated clinical symptoms, accelerated recovery, and enhanced nursing satisfaction. The integrated TCM-WM nursing ward round model effectively combines the strengths of both approaches, providing more comprehensive and higher-quality care for elderly patients with complex diseases, demonstrating significant clinical value.
