A Report on Traditional Chinese Nursing Care for Redness of Skin in a Case of Early Mastitis Treated with Manual Breast-Feeding Combined with Traditional Chinese Herbal Plaster Therapy
This study summarizes the nursing experience of managing cutaneous erythema (skin redness) in a patient with early-stage mastitis through integrated breast massage and herbal compress therapy. Guided by the holistic concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and pattern-differentiated nursing principles, interventions included specialized breast massage techniques, herbal compress applications, syndrome-specific dietary guidance, and emotional regulation. These comprehensive measures effectively alleviated pain and erythema, eliminated accumulated milk stasis, achieved uniform softness throughout the breast tissue, and restored optimal milk flow. This integrated TCM nursing approach demonstrates significant clinical efficacy and deserves wider clinical implementation.
