Nursing Experience of Herbal Hot Compress Combined with Acupoint Application in Treating a Patient with Ulcerative Colitis
To explore the clinical effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment and nursing intervention on elderly patients with abdominal pain and intestinal infection (suspected ulcerative colitis), and to evaluate its intervention value in symptom relief, quality of life improvement and hospital stay reduction.
Methods
2
A 75-year-old female patient was selected and admitted to the emergency department with "abdominal pain for 10 hours". The following intervention plan was implemented: Western medicine treatment included systemic anti-infection, acid suppression and gastric protection, and nutritional support; Traditional Chinese medicine nursing adopted hot compresses, acupoint application and oral administration of Chinese herbal decoctions, and the therapeutic effect was evaluated.
Results
2
After 10 days of comprehensive intervention, the patient's abdominal pain was significantly relieved, abdominal tenderness disappeared, and infectious indicators decreased significantly. Electronic colonoscopy showed multiple ulcers in the colon. The patient was discharged smoothly after the condition was stable. The patient had good treatment compliance and high satisfaction with nursing.
Conclusion
2
Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing can synergistically improve the clinical symptoms and prognosis of elderly patients with abdominal pain and intestinal infection, and is worthy of promotion in the field of geriatric digestive diseases.
