Nursing Experience of One Patient with Peripheral Facial Paralysis Treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine Cataplasm and Brain Reflex Electrical Stimulation
This article summarizes the nursing experience of a case of peripheral facial paralysis treated with herbal compress combined with cerebral reflex electrical stimulation. An integrated Chinese and Western medicine approach was adopted for the patient. The herbal compress promoted the recovery of facial muscle function through the penetration of medicinal ions into pores combined with thermal energy factors, while cerebral reflex electrical stimulation activated facial muscles by delivering pulsed currents to cerebral neurons, thereby improving facial symptoms. Combined with conventional treatment, rehabilitation training, and health education, the intervention achieved significant outcomes, substantially enhancing the patient’s quality of life.
