Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Nursing for a Spinal Cord Injury Patient Based on the Five-in-One Model
This article summarizes the practical experience of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing for a spinal cord injury (SCI) patient under the Five-in-One model (Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, rehabilitation, nursing, and nutrition). Neurogenic bladder after SCI is a voiding dysfunction caused by neurological impairment due to spinal cord injury, clinically manifested as urinary incontinence, detrusor-sphincter dyssynergia, and severely compromised quality of life. This case highlights a multidisciplinary approach involving urodynamic assessment, personalized intermittent catheterization, bladder function training, and traditional Chinese medicine therapies, ultimately achieving partial restoration of voluntary voiding, infection control, and improved quality of life. The comprehensive rehabilitation under the Five-in-One model effectively promoted functional recovery.
