Nursing Management of a Patient with Pontine Hemorrhage Complicated by Urinary Tract Candida auris Infection
This article summarizes the nursing experience of a patient with pontine hemorrhage complicated by urinary tract infection and Candida auris colonization. Based on standardized antibiotic therapy, systematic nursing interventions were implemented during hospitalization, including precision infection control measures (contact isolation, environmental disinfection) and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine approaches (e.g., herbal medicine administration via gastric tube to regulate physiological functions). Through comprehensive interventions, the Candida auris infection was effectively controlled with negative urine culture results, and the patient was discharged after 123 days of hospitalization. This case demonstrates that integrating evidence-based nursing with personalized traditional Chinese and Western medicine interventions can optimize clinical outcomes and enhance nursing quality for neurocritical patients with multidrug-resistant infections.
