Nursing Experience of Treating a Case of Elderly Patient with Spinal Cord Injury-induced Neurogenic Bladder Urination Retention by Sanjiao Moxibustion
This article summarizes the nursing experience of applying Sanjiao moxibustion to treat neurogenic bladder with urinary retention in an elderly patient with spinal cord injury. Based on syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), an individualized Sanjiao moxibustion protocol was implemented, combined with nursing interventions including lifestyle guidance, bladder training, limb functional exercise, dietary care, emotional support, and health education. The treatment aimed to regulate the qi movement of the zang-fu organs associated with the Sanjiao (Triple Energizer), ensuring the smooth flow of systemic qi transformation. These measures effectively alleviated urinary retention and improved the patient's quality of life.
