Nursing Experience of Combined Herbal Compress and Herbal Hot Pack Therapy in a Patient with Lumbar Impediment due to Blood Stasis and Qi Stagnation
This article summarizes the nursing experience of treating a patient with lumbar impediment caused by blood stasis and qi stagnation using a combination of herbal compress and herbal hot pack therapy. Guided by TCM syndrome differentiation and holistic nursing principles, the intervention involved topical application of medicated herbal paste combined with heated herbal packs to promote blood circulation, resolve stasis, unblock collaterals, and alleviate pain. Complementary nursing measures included emotional regulation, dietary guidance, lifestyle adjustments, and rehabilitative exercises. The integrated approach effectively improved clinical symptoms, reduced pain and inflammatory responses, and enhanced the functional recovery of lumbar joints.
