Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Nursing for a Patient with Ulcerative Colitis Complicated by Intestinal Flora Imbalance
This article summarizes the practice of combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing for a patient with ulcerative colitis (UC) accompanied by intestinal flora imbalance. The patient had a prolonged disease course, with clinical manifestations mainly including mucoid bloody stool, recurrent abdominal pain. Based on conventional Western medical treatment (such as anti-inflammatory and microecological regulation), combined with TCM syndrome differentiation as spleen-kidney deficiency and damp-heat accumulation, through comprehensive nursing interventions including oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine, retention enema with traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine wrapping, dietary care, and emotional care, the patient's pathological state of spleen-kidney deficiency and damp-heat accumulation was improved. Through internal and external treatment and holistic adjustment strategies, it helped the patient alleviate digestive tract symptoms, restore intestinal function, promote mucosal repair, effectively reduce the risk of recurrence, and improve quality of life.
