Nursing Report on the Application of Scraping Therapy Based on the "Eliminating Turbid and Nourishing the Fundamental" Theory in a Patient with Lung Cancer Complicated with Superior Vena Cava Syndrome
This paper summarizes the nursing effect of a patient with lung cancer complicated with superior vena cava syndrome treated with scraping therapy based on the "Eliminating Turbid and Nourishing the Fundamental" theory. Guided by this theory, the scraping plan was determined based on the TCM syndrome differentiation. By focusing on scraping specific meridians and acupoints, the aim was to eliminate pathogenic turbidity and toxins and support the body's vital energy. This was complemented by comprehensive nursing measures including daily living, diet, emotional regulation, and exercise. The patient's symptoms improved significantly after the nursing intervention, with relief of chest tightness and shortness of breath, the ability to lie flat for rest, significant reduction of facial and upper limb edema, normalization of blood pressure, absence of pain, emotional relief, and improvement in sleep quality and appetite. The scraping therapy based on the "Eliminating Turbid and Nourishing the Fundamental" theory can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients with lung cancer complicated with superior vena cava syndrome, improve their quality of life, and provide an effective approach for integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing for such diseases.
