Nursing Experience of Using Chinese Herbal Enema to Reduce Creatinine in a Patient with Chronic Renal Failure
This article summarizes the nursing experience of a 70-year-old male patient with acute exacerbation of chronic renal failure. Upon admission, the patient exhibited elevated serum creatinine levels, gross hematuria, fatigue, and other clinical symptoms. In addition to conventional Western medical treatment, integrated Chinese herbal retention enema and other appropriate Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques were applied to exert heat-clearing, blood-cooling, spleen-strengthening, and kidney-tonifying effects, thereby assisting in improving renal function. During nursing care, close monitoring was conducted for adverse reactions related to the herbal enema, alongside intensified dietary guidance and psychological interventions, which effectively enhanced patient comfort and treatment compliance. The practice demonstrated that integrated Chinese-Western nursing could reduce serum creatinine levels, alleviate clinical symptoms, and serve as a valuable adjunctive therapy with promising clinical application.
