Nursing Report on the Treatment of a Child with Acute Cough Using Comprehensive Traditional Chinese External Therapy Based on the Dialectical Theory of "Combining Treatment of Symptoms and Root Causes"
This article summarizes the nursing experience of treating a child with acute cough of the "phlegm-heat congesting the lung" syndrome using traditional Chinese external therapy. The nursing process is based on the principles of "holistic concept" and "differential diagnosis and treatment" in traditional Chinese medicine, following the thinking of "first clearing heat and eliminating phlegm to treat the symptoms, then regulating lung qi to treat the root cause". The main approach is traditional Chinese therapy (pediatric massage combined with honey seed tank therapy, acupoint patch application), while also combining conventional nursing measures such as differential diagnosis and feeding, family care guidance, and health education. The symptoms of the child, such as cough frequency, sputum volume, and lung rales, have significantly improved. This nursing plan is worthy of promotion and application in pediatric clinical practice.
