A Case Report on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Nursing Care for a Patient with Metabolic Syndrome after Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy and Cholecystectomy
To explore the application value and effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western nursing care in patients with metabolic syndrome after laparoscopic combined surgery, and to provide empirical reference for the clinical nursing of similar patients.
Methods
2
One patient with metabolic syndrome was selected and received systematic nursing intervention combining Western basic nursing, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation-based care, and multidisciplinary collaboration, covering vital sign monitoring, complication prevention, nutritional support, traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application, auricular point pressing, and emotional regulation. The nursing strategy was dynamically adjusted according to the patient's condition.
Results
2
The patient was discharged after 7 days of hospitalization with a grade A healing of the surgical incision and no related complications. The nutritional status improved, the thrombosis risk score decreased, and the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) score returned to normal. The 3-month follow-up showed that the patient's weight decreased to 78 kg, the body mass index (BMI) was 31.5 kg/m², all metabolic indicators returned to normal, the symptoms of phlegm-dampness syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine were significantly relieved, and the patient had resumed normal daily life.
Conclusion
2
Integrated traditional Chinese and Western nursing care can effectively relieve postoperative pain in patients with metabolic syndrome after laparoscopic combined surgery, reduce the risk of complications, improve metabolic indicators and traditional Chinese medicine syndromes, and promote postoperative recovery, demonstrating high clinical promotion value.
