Nursing Experience of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Care for a Patient with Intestinal Obstruction Treated Based on the "Treating the Six Fu Organs by Ensuring Unobstruction" Theory Combined with Zang-Fu Organ Massage and Auricular Acupressure
This article summarizes the integrated Chinese and Western nursing experience for a patient following nasal intestinal obstruction catheter placement. Western nursing focuses on gastrointestinal decompression, condition monitoring, dietary management, and tube care to promptly prevent and manage complications. Traditional Chinese medicine follows the principle that "the six fu organs function through unobstructed flow," employing moxibustion over the Shenque acupoint with intervening substances to warm yang and promote bowel movement, visceral massage and abdominal rubbing to regulate qi circulation, and auricular therapy to soothe the liver and calm the mind. These external therapies work synergistically to effectively relieve abdominal pain and distension, improve anxiety, and enhance gastrointestinal motility and defecation. The integration of Chinese and Western nursing approaches achieves complementary strengths, accelerating patient recovery and improving overall nursing quality.
