Nursing Experience of Auricular Point Therapy Combined with Thunder-Fire Moxibustion for One Patient with Facial Melasma
This article summarizes the nursing experience of treating a patient with facial melasma. Under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory and following syndrome differentiation and treatment, auricular point therapy combined with thunder-fire moxibustion was adopted. The auricular point therapy comprised auricular massage, auricular scraping, auricular bloodletting, and auricular point taping and pressing. After two months of treatment, the patient's facial melasma patches were significantly lightened and partially faded, skin luster was enhanced, and quality of life and self-confidence were markedly improved. This case summary is shared to provide clinical reference for TCM nursing care of patients with melasma.
