A Nursing Case Report of Neonatal Pleural Effusion Based on the Refined Nursing Concept
This article summarizes the nursing experience of one preterm infant born at 36⁺² weeks of gestation diagnosed with pleural effusion (chylothorax). Focusing on the core nursing problems identified through the nursing process, a series of nursing interventions were implemented under the guidance of the refined nursing concept, including standardized drainage tube maintenance, individualized prone positioning ventilation, stepped precise enteral feeding, whole-process infection prevention and control, dynamic pain assessment with comfort care, as well as psychological counseling and care empowerment for the family. Ultimately, the infant's vital signs remained stable, with successful weaning from both respiratory support and parenteral nutrition. Feeding tolerance was favorable, family anxiety was alleviated, and the patient recovered smoothly. In this case, individualized refined management combined with family-participatory nursing care proved critical to the success of treatment, which may serve as a reference for future clinical nursing practice.
