Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine Nursing Care for One Patient with Sjögren's Syndrome Complicated by Raynaud's Phenomenon
To explore the methods and effects of integrative Chinese and Western medicine nursing care for a patient with Sjögren's syndrome complicated by Raynaud's phenomenon.
Methods
2
A systematic nursing assessment was conducted for one 59-year-old patient, with seven existing nursing problems identified (pain, activity intolerance, impaired peripheral tissue perfusion, impaired comfort, anxiety, disturbed self-concept, and deficient disease-related knowledge) as well as four potential risks (infection, skin impairment, visual impairment, and fracture). Comprehensive nursing interventions were implemented, including symptom care, circulation management, specialized oral and ophthalmic care, psychological intervention, medication guidance, and appropriate traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) techniques.
Results
2
The patient's pain was relieved, the symptoms of xerostomia and xerophthalmia were improved, the frequency of Raynaud's phenomenon episodes was markedly reduced, anxiety was alleviated, self-care ability was enhanced, and no complications occurred during hospitalization. The patient was discharged uneventfully.
Conclusion
2
Integrative Chinese and Western medicine nursing care can effectively relieve clinical symptoms, prevent complications, and improve quality of life, and is therefore worthy of clinical promotion and application.
