A Case Report of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Nursing Care for a Patient with Primary Tracheobronchopulmonary Amyloidosis Complicated by Hemoptysis
This article summarizes the nursing experience of integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM-WM) in the management of a patient with primary tracheobronchopulmonary amyloidosis complicated by secondary hemoptysis. The patient was diagnosed in TCM as Fei Yong (lung abscess) with the syndrome pattern of phlegm-heat obstructing the lung. On the basis of conventional Western medical treatment and standardized nursing care, a series of TCM-based interventions were implemented, including oral administration of modified Qianjin Weijing Decoction, auricular acupressure, acupoint massage, Baduanjin (Eight-Section Brocade) respiratory rehabilitation training, and TCM emotional regulation. After 14 days of intervention, hemoptysis resolved completely, with marked improvements observed in sputum characteristics, physical activity capacity, and anxiety status. The patient was discharged with a stable condition. This case demonstrates that the integrated TCM-WM nursing model confers significant advantages in the management of such complex and rare respiratory disorders.
