Nursing Experience of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for an Elderly Patient after Coronary Heart Disease PCI Surgery and the Practice of Triple-Combined Teaching
This article summarizes the nursing experience of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for a 77-year-old elderly patient with multiple comorbidities who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for coronary heart disease. The patient was differentiated as chest impediment (qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome), and the nursing care was centered on the principle of "replenishing qi and activating blood." Western conventional nursing measures were integrated with TCM-specific nursing techniques, including auricular acupressure, acupoint application, and moxibustion. Meanwhile, a triple-combined teaching approach incorporating Case-Based Learning (CBL), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Team-Based Learning (TBL), along with ideological and political instruction, was applied to the teaching ward rounds. Following the intervention, the patient's symptoms, including chest tightness and fatigue, were significantly alleviated, with no severe complications occurring. The teaching practice effectively improved the nursing staff's ability in TCM syndrome differentiation-based nursing and their humanistic care consciousness. The findings indicate that integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing has significant application value for elderly patients with complex cardiovascular diseases, and the CBL+PBL+TBL triple-combined teaching approach provides an effective pathway for cultivating high-quality nursing professionals.
