Nursing Experience of Constipation-Specific Tuina Combined with Large Intestine Meridian Pushing Therapy for a Patient with Post-Stroke Constipation of Gastrointestinal Heat Accumulation Pattern: A Case Report
This article aims to summarize the nursing experience of a patient with post-stroke constipation presenting with the gastrointestinal heat accumulation pattern. Following syndrome differentiation through a comprehensive analysis of the four TCM diagnostic methods, targeted nursing care was implemented, incorporating constipation-specific tuina therapy in conjunction with Large Intestine Meridian pushing therapy. Therapeutic outcomes were evaluated using the Constipation Main Symptom Scoring Standard, the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Syndrome Efficacy Evaluation Scale, and the mean weekly frequency of Spontaneous Complete Bowel Movements (SCBM). The results demonstrated that symptoms such as defecation difficulty and abdominal distension were significantly improved during hospitalization. This case report may serve as a reference for the clinical nursing practice of patients with this condition.
