Evidence-Based Nursing Practice for a Patient with Traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage Complicated by Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension: A Case Report
This case involved a neurocritical patient with traumatic intracranial hemorrhage complicated by type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension as multiple comorbidities, presenting an overall complex clinical condition with a high risk of various complications and considerable challenges in acute-phase clinical management. A multidisciplinary collaboration model was adopted for this case, integrating characteristic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) intervention techniques on the basis of conventional Western medical treatment, with systematic nursing implementation and dynamic outcome evaluation carried out concurrently throughout the entire process. Following standardized intervention, the patient demonstrated significant improvement across multiple dimensions, including neurological functional status, metabolic indicators, nutritional status, and infection prevention and control outcomes. This case practice confirms that the evidence-based multidisciplinary collaboration model combined with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing can effectively enhance acute-phase management outcomes for neurocritical patients with multiple comorbidities, providing referable clinical practice insights for the development of nursing care plans for similar complex cases.
