Perioperative Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Nursing Report for a Patient Undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis
To explore the application effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM and Western medicine) nursing during the perioperative period of peritoneal dialysis catheterization, summarize individualized nursing experience, and provide references for clinical nursing practice.
Methods
2
A patient with stage 5 chronic kidney disease undergoing peritoneal dialysis catheterization received comprehensive perioperative integrated nursing care combining TCM and Western medicine, including condition monitoring, catheter care, complication prevention, emotional regulation, auricular acupressure, dietary guidance, and discharge instruction.
Results
2
The patient underwent the surgery smoothly and achieved favorable postoperative recovery. No complications, such as bleeding, infection, poor drainage, or peritonitis, occurred. The patient maintained a stable emotional state, with improved self-management ability, and successfully transitioned into regular peritoneal dialysis treatment.
Conclusion
2
Integrated TCM and Western medicine nursing can effectively promote the perioperative rehabilitation of patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis, reduce the incidence of complications, improve physical and psychological well-being, and enhance treatment compliance and quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
