A Case of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Nursing for a Chronic Ulcerated Tophus Wound Based on the "Internet + Nursing" Platform
This report summarizes the practice of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine transitional nursing care for a patient with a chronic ulcerated tophus on the heel accompanied by massive urate crystal deposition. Standardized wound debridement, layered dressing application, pain management, and urate-lowering pharmacotherapy were implemented based on the "Internet + Nursing" platform, in conjunction with traditional Chinese medicine interventions including emotional regulation, dialectical dietary guidance, and the five-element music therapy. Following three months of continuous intervention, the wound size was reduced, urate crystals were completely cleared, and granulation tissue grew well. The serum uric acid level decreased to 332 μmol/L, and the patient resumed normal weight-bearing ambulation. This model integrates local wound repair with psychosomatic regulation, which promotes the healing of chronic wounds in gout patients and enhances their self-management abilities.
