摘要:This paper summarizes the clinical nursing experience of integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM-WM) care for a patient with decompensated cirrhosis complicated by severe bilateral lower extremity edema, aiming to provide evidence-based references for the management of similar cases. A 66-year-old patient with decompensated cirrhosis presenting with severe bilateral lower extremity edema was treated with conventional Western medical interventions including hepatoprotection, diuresis, and correction of hypoalbuminemia. In parallel, Western nursing measures encompassing fluid management, skin protection, nutritional support, and condition monitoring were implemented, complemented by characteristic TCM interventions such as oral herbal decoctions, acupoint application, and emotional nursing based on TCM theory. Dynamic assessment of disease progression and nursing outcomes was performed throughout the treatment course. Following 21 days of standardized treatment and coordinated TCM-WM nursing care, the patient's severe bilateral lower extremity edema resolved completely. Liver function, serum albumin, and electrolyte parameters improved markedly compared with admission values. No complications such as pressure ulcers, infection, or hepatic encephalopathy occurred during hospitalization, and the patient was discharged in stable condition. These findings indicate that the implementation of targeted integrated TCM-WM nursing care for patients with decompensated cirrhosis complicated by severe bilateral lower extremity edema can effectively alleviate edema symptoms, improve liver function, reduce the risk of complications, and promote patient recovery, thereby enhancing the overall quality of nursing care.
摘要:This article summarizes the practical experience of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM-WM) nursing for a maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patient complicated with moderate depression. Patients undergoing regular hemodialysis often suffer from prolonged illness-related distress and frequently present with typical depressive manifestations such as low mood and insomnia. On the basis of conventional Western medicine psychological care and specialized hemodialysis nursing, TCM characteristic nursing techniques including head and facial massage and five-element music therapy were incorporated into the intervention, with a continuous intervention duration of two weeks. The practice confirmed that the integrated TCM-WM nursing model achieves simultaneous management of both the primary disease and accompanying symptoms, effectively alleviating dialysis-related physical discomfort and improving the depressive state of MHD patients. This model is suitable for promotion and application in the clinical setting of hemodialysis units.
摘要:This case involved a neurocritical patient with traumatic intracranial hemorrhage complicated by type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension as multiple comorbidities, presenting an overall complex clinical condition with a high risk of various complications and considerable challenges in acute-phase clinical management. A multidisciplinary collaboration model was adopted for this case, integrating characteristic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) intervention techniques on the basis of conventional Western medical treatment, with systematic nursing implementation and dynamic outcome evaluation carried out concurrently throughout the entire process. Following standardized intervention, the patient demonstrated significant improvement across multiple dimensions, including neurological functional status, metabolic indicators, nutritional status, and infection prevention and control outcomes. This case practice confirms that the evidence-based multidisciplinary collaboration model combined with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing can effectively enhance acute-phase management outcomes for neurocritical patients with multiple comorbidities, providing referable clinical practice insights for the development of nursing care plans for similar complex cases.
摘要:This article summarizes the clinical practice experience of managing antibiotic-associated diarrhea in an elderly patient with severe pneumonia through intervention guided by the Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow theory. Grounded in the core principle of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation and treatment, and based on the theoretical foundation of "harmony between heaven and humanity" inherent in the Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow theory, a clear disease diagnosis and intervention objectives were established under the guidance of TCM syndrome differentiation-based nursing on the basis of conventional treatment and nursing care. A therapeutic protocol combining acupoint application with ginger-separated moxibustion was implemented. The results demonstrated that the intervention effectively improved the patient's clinical symptoms, reduced the frequency of diarrheal episodes, alleviated the systemic inflammatory response, and enhanced the patient's quality of life.
摘要:This article summarizes the nursing practice report of one patient with lumbar disc herniation presenting with cold congealing and blood stasis syndrome who was treated with suspended moxibustion combined with Chinese herbal application. On the basis of completing relevant clinical examinations and in combination with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, syndrome differentiation-based nursing was implemented. An intervention protocol of suspended moxibustion combined with Chinese herbal application was adopted to improve the patient's clinical symptoms, concurrently supplemented with routine nursing and targeted psychological care. Following the intervention, the symptoms associated with lumbar disc herniation of the cold congealing and blood stasis pattern were significantly alleviated, and the patient's postoperative quality of life was markedly improved.
摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy of abdominal massage combined with acupoint application and hot compress guided by the theory of strengthening the spleen and harmonizing the middle jiao in managing gastrointestinal reactions induced by intravenous azithromycin in a pediatric patient with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia.MethodsBased on the four diagnostic methods and visceral pattern differentiation, a three-step intervention consisting of regulating qi, strengthening the spleen, and warming yang was implemented. The intervention measures included abdominal massage, acupoint application, and hot water bag compress, aiming to regulate qi and unblock the fu-organs, fortify the spleen and stomach to consolidate middle qi, and warm and activate spleen yang.ResultsThe discomfort symptoms of gastrointestinal reactions in the pediatric patient were effectively alleviated. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea were significantly relieved, appetite was improved, and the patient demonstrated good compliance with subsequent treatment.ConclusionThe intervention protocol of abdominal massage combined with acupoint application and hot compress under the guidance of the theory of strengthening the spleen and harmonizing the middle jiao can effectively alleviate gastrointestinal reactions induced by azithromycin. The intervention is safe, simple, and noninvasive with high acceptance among pediatric patients, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
