摘要:This paper summarizes the clinical nursing experience of integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM-WM) care for a patient with decompensated cirrhosis complicated by severe bilateral lower extremity edema, aiming to provide evidence-based references for the management of similar cases. A 66-year-old patient with decompensated cirrhosis presenting with severe bilateral lower extremity edema was treated with conventional Western medical interventions including hepatoprotection, diuresis, and correction of hypoalbuminemia. In parallel, Western nursing measures encompassing fluid management, skin protection, nutritional support, and condition monitoring were implemented, complemented by characteristic TCM interventions such as oral herbal decoctions, acupoint application, and emotional nursing based on TCM theory. Dynamic assessment of disease progression and nursing outcomes was performed throughout the treatment course. Following 21 days of standardized treatment and coordinated TCM-WM nursing care, the patient's severe bilateral lower extremity edema resolved completely. Liver function, serum albumin, and electrolyte parameters improved markedly compared with admission values. No complications such as pressure ulcers, infection, or hepatic encephalopathy occurred during hospitalization, and the patient was discharged in stable condition. These findings indicate that the implementation of targeted integrated TCM-WM nursing care for patients with decompensated cirrhosis complicated by severe bilateral lower extremity edema can effectively alleviate edema symptoms, improve liver function, reduce the risk of complications, and promote patient recovery, thereby enhancing the overall quality of nursing care.

摘要:This article summarizes the practical experience of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM-WM) nursing for a maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patient complicated with moderate depression. Patients undergoing regular hemodialysis often suffer from prolonged illness-related distress and frequently present with typical depressive manifestations such as low mood and insomnia. On the basis of conventional Western medicine psychological care and specialized hemodialysis nursing, TCM characteristic nursing techniques including head and facial massage and five-element music therapy were incorporated into the intervention, with a continuous intervention duration of two weeks. The practice confirmed that the integrated TCM-WM nursing model achieves simultaneous management of both the primary disease and accompanying symptoms, effectively alleviating dialysis-related physical discomfort and improving the depressive state of MHD patients. This model is suitable for promotion and application in the clinical setting of hemodialysis units.

摘要:This article summarizes the clinical practice experience of managing antibiotic-associated diarrhea in an elderly patient with severe pneumonia through intervention guided by the Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow theory. Grounded in the core principle of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation and treatment, and based on the theoretical foundation of "harmony between heaven and humanity" inherent in the Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow theory, a clear disease diagnosis and intervention objectives were established under the guidance of TCM syndrome differentiation-based nursing on the basis of conventional treatment and nursing care. A therapeutic protocol combining acupoint application with ginger-separated moxibustion was implemented. The results demonstrated that the intervention effectively improved the patient's clinical symptoms, reduced the frequency of diarrheal episodes, alleviated the systemic inflammatory response, and enhanced the patient's quality of life.

摘要:This report presents a complex case involving multiple tumor metastases. The subject was a 58-year-old female patient with primary endometrial cancer who developed secondary rectal metastasis after multiple antitumor treatments, complicated by incomplete intestinal obstruction and a history of multiple surgical procedures. Based on pattern differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the patient was diagnosed with intestinal cancer presenting as phlegm-stasis intermingling syndrome. The nursing care was centered on the core principles of resolving phlegm, expelling stasis, promoting qi movement, and relieving pain. A multidimensional nursing assessment was conducted, nursing diagnoses corresponding to the syndrome differentiation results were established, and TCM external treatment techniques including herbal washing, acupoint application, and auricular point pressing with seeds were applied, alongside Western medicine approaches such as vital sign monitoring, dietary regulation, emotional care, and targeted prevention of complications. After 6 days of intervention, the phlegm-stasis-related symptoms including abdominal distension and bearing-down sensation, poor appetite, and fatigue were significantly alleviated, no new complications occurred, and the patient's treatment compliance improved markedly. This case practice demonstrates that the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in syndrome-based nursing can effectively alleviate physical discomfort symptoms in patients with advanced metastatic tumors, providing a referable practical basis for the implementation of individualized TCM nursing in cancer patients with multiple underlying diseases.

摘要:This paper summarizes the nursing experience of applying pediatric massage combined with acupoint application of Chinese herbal medicine at the Yongquan point in the treatment of one case of infantile abdominal distension. Under the guidance of syndrome differentiation-based nursing in Traditional Chinese Medicine, daily pediatric massage and vinegar-mixed Chinese herbal application at the Yongquan point were implemented targeting the identified nursing problems of the infant. Concurrently, health education and psychological counseling were provided to the primary caregivers throughout the intervention period. After 7 days of intervention, the infant's abdominal distension and inconsolable crying were significantly alleviated, milk intake returned to normal, and a high level of caregiver satisfaction was reported. The findings suggest that this combined therapy is non-invasive with high patient compliance, and that the synchronous provision of health education for caregivers represents a key component in consolidating therapeutic outcomes. This integrated approach may serve as a reproducible practical reference for the external Traditional Chinese Medicine nursing management of infantile abdominal distension.

摘要:This paper summarizes the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing experience for one patient with postoperative gastroparesis syndrome (PGS) following gastric cancer surgery. On the basis of conventional nursing care, TCM external therapies, namely acupoint application at Shenque and Zhongwan combined with suspended moxibustion at Shenque, Zhongwan, and Zusanli, were implemented. The therapeutic principles centered on fortifying the spleen and replenishing qi, soothing the liver and harmonizing the stomach, as well as descending adverse qi and arresting vomiting. Following the nursing intervention, the symptom scores related to nausea, vomiting, and dietary intake were markedly improved, and the patient's sleep quality and anxiety status were notably alleviated. TCM external therapies are characterized by straightforward operation and high patient acceptance, and can effectively facilitate the recovery of gastrointestinal function in affected patients.
摘要:Post-stroke insomnia significantly impedes the recovery of neurological function in affected patients. In elderly patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis who concurrently present with multiple chronic conditions such as stroke, conventional sedative-hypnotic medications are generally unsuitable for insomnia management due to age-related decline in organ function. This paper summarizes the comprehensive nursing experience of one patient with stroke complicated by diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease requiring dialysis who suffered from insomnia. A tailored nursing care plan was developed for the patient, incorporating auricular acupoint pressure combined with Chinese herbal acupoint application as non-pharmacological interventions, alongside foundational nursing care and psychological counseling. After three consecutive months of standardized nursing interventions, the patient's sleep quality was markedly improved. This external Traditional Chinese Medicine approach demonstrates a favorable safety profile and is particularly suitable for elderly patients with compromised organ function, thereby providing a feasible practical paradigm for insomnia management in such clinically complex cases.

摘要:Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) is the most common adverse reaction in bone tumor patients during the chemotherapy stage, which can significantly reduce patients' treatment compliance and interfere with the orderly implementation of antitumor therapy. This paper reports a postoperative chemotherapy patient with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the left buttock who developed moderate nausea and vomiting, epigastric and abdominal distension, as well as poor appetite and fatigue after chemotherapy. On the basis of standardized antiemetic treatment in Western medicine, an external intervention protocol of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was adopted, comprising acupoint application combined with abdominal hot compress with Chinese herbal medicine. Following the TCM therapeutic principles of fortifying the spleen and harmonizing the stomach as well as descending adverse qi and arresting vomiting, standardized external therapeutic procedures, emotional nursing, and dialectical dietary care were carried out. After 6 days of intervention, the patient's vomiting ceased, symptoms of nausea and abdominal distension subsided, dietary intake returned to normal, and no adverse events such as skin allergy or scald occurred, with the current chemotherapy cycle successfully completed. The combination of Chinese herbal hot compress and acupoint application can safely and effectively alleviate chemotherapy-related gastrointestinal reactions in bone tumor patients, featuring simple operation and suitability for clinical application and promotion.

摘要:This paper summarizes the nursing experience of one patient with chest discomfort and heart pain (coronary heart disease) accompanied by constipation, aiming to explore the application value of combined external interventions of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in reducing the risk of cardiac events and improving clinical symptoms. The nursing care centered on Bian-stone Chinese medicine ironing-massage penetration therapy combined with warming-Yang cupping therapy, supplemented by routine daily life nursing, emotional counseling, and dietary and exercise guidance. After 7 days of intervention, the patient's symptoms of chest tightness, palpitations, and abdominal distension disappeared, defecation returned to once daily, and no adverse cardiac events occurred. This case demonstrates that the combined intervention protocol is safe and effective, reflecting the advantages of addressing both the superficiality and root cause through the principles of "warming Yang, promoting qi movement, and unblocking the fu-organs," and can provide a replicable TCM nursing regimen for clinical practice.
