Experience of cluster management for a patient with stage III pressure injury and infection around PICC puncture point
This article summarized the nursing experience of a patient with hemiplegia after cerebral hemorrhage complicated with stage III pressure injury and Staphylococcus aureus infection after PICC catheter placement. In this case, the distance of elbow pressure injury to PICC puncture point was less than 3 cm. The nursing team called multidisciplinary experts to work together and adopted cluster management mode to evaluate the skin around the puncture, formulate personalized dressing change measures, diabetes management, nutrition management, and holistic nursing. At the same time, the nursing measures were continuously evaluated, summarized and improved during the whole process. After a series of personalized nursing, the infusion safety of patients was guaranteed, the nutritional status of patients was corrected, and the wound healed well. After the PICC catheter was removed at discharge, no microbial infection was found in the tip culture.
