Nursing experience of a patient with cervical spondylotic myelopathy accompanied by incomplete paralysis
This article summarizes the perioperative nursing experience of a patient with cervical spondylotic myelopathy who underwent anterior cervical surgery. The patient underwent anterior cervical surgery due to symptoms such as cervical spondylosis with incomplete paralysis, numbness and radiating discomfort in both upper limbs, and poor control of fine motor skills. Pain, neurological recovery, functional exercise, and proper fall prevention are the main nursing issues. Based on the patient's condition, the following personalized integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing measures are formulated for the perioperative period: ① Surgical intervention: Depending on the severity of the condition, choose anterior or posterior surgery to relieve spinal cord compression and rebuild cervical stability; ② Drug therapy: using neurotrophic drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, dehydrators, etc.; ③ Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: treat patients with traditional Chinese medicine conditioning, acupuncture and moxibustion and massage to promote the circulation of qi and blood and nerve recovery. Using traditional Chinese medicine theory as a framework, combining appropriate techniques of traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine based on patient symptoms can effectively alleviate symptoms, reduce the occurrence of complications, and promote patient recovery faster.
