Nursing experience of using Swanson care theory combined with traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques in a patient with nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy for colon cancer
This article summarizes the nursing experience of a patient with nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy for colon cancer. After admission, the patient treated the treatment passively. By evaluating the patient's condition and psychological emotions, and using traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques in conjunction with Swanson care theory, nursing goals were set to establish trust, provide supportive information, reduce anxiety, and promote self-healing. Targeted nursing measures were developed. After treatment with a combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine and nursing intervention, the patient improved and was discharged. By developing personalized nursing plans, the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in terms of simplicity and cost-effectiveness can be leveraged, improving clinical efficacy, reducing chemotherapy side effects, lowering treatment costs, saving medical resources, and enhancing patient satisfaction.
